Miramar Links offers a range of golf experiences, from on-course play to practice facilities. It's welcoming for all ages and abilities, whether you're dropping in for a quick hit or playing regularly.

Our Story

Miramar Links began with a simple idea. Make golf part of everyday Wellington life.

Founded in 1905 on Karori farmland, the club moved to the peninsula in 1909 and opened an 11 hole course with a gala carnival and special trams from town.

Through the 1920s and 1930s the links hosted national championships and welcomed the country's best. The tradition continued in 2010 when a 13 year old Lydia Ko won eight straight matches under par

Sharing a boundary with the airport has shaped who we are. When land pressures mounted, the club chose resilience. A 1990s compromise kept golf on a tighter footprint. In 2019 members voted to sell 13 hectares and reinvest. In 2023 they approved a new nine hole design by New Zealand architect Scott Macpherson.

Stage one is complete. A crafted nine hole members' course with new drainage and irrigation. The Green Giant practice putting green. A nine hole short course, a pitching area, and a welcoming starter's shed and tuck shop beside the first tee. These changes arrived ahead of schedule and have been embraced by members and visitors.

We’ve shaped the landscape with care. Native wetland planting, native grasses and an orchard now encourage birdlife and bees.

Next comes stage two. AirShot, a two level 36 bay Toptracer range, adventure mini putt and a relaxed lounge by the bays will open from early spring 2026, creating a modern city golf precinct for everyone. Read more about the developments here.
